Ralph L. Moore, 92, of Grundy Center, Iowa, passed away on Friday, September 8, 2006, of natural causes at the Grundy County Memorial Hospital in Grundy Center, Iowa.

Ralph L. Moore was born on April 2, 1914 in Monroe County, IA, son of Charles O. and Mary A. (Best) Moore. He attended country school in the Albia, IA area and graduated from Albia High School. Ralph worked with his family on the farm after high school. On June 10, 1936, Ralph was united in marriage to Hannabel Gray. Together, they farmed a short while near Albia, and then moved, with the rest of the Moore family, to farms NE of Grundy Center. Ralph continued to farm until 1975, when they moved into Grundy Center. Ralph truly enjoyed helping people, and he would say, no one is a stranger. He would spend his free time tilling other?s gardens or helping on carpentry projects others might have. Ralph was an accomplished carpenter, having designed and built his own home. Ralph was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Grundy Center, and had previously been a member of the Lincoln Center Christian Reformed Church where he served for many years on the consistory as both a Deacon or an Elder. He had many hobbies including woodworking projects, model trains and traveling around the countryside visiting relatives and friends.

Surviving relatives include his wife, Hannabel of Grundy Center; three daughters, Eloise (Gerald) Monk of Grundy Center, Dr. Mary E. Moore of Riverside, CA, Ruth (Kent) Beiner of Dike, IA; one sister-in-law, Gertrude Craig of Grundy Center; five grandchildren, Dr. G. Andrew (Michelle) Monk of Arlington Heights, IL, Jesse A. (Sherri) Monk of Marion, IA, Rubyana L. Grimmius of Adel, IA, Joben E. Grimmius of Ames, IA, Brandy A. Beiner of Cedar Falls, IA; six great-grandchildren, Alyanna and Calissa Monk; Zachary, Jordan and Nathaniel Monk; and Kenton Beiner.

Ralph was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Paul J. Moore and John W. Moore.
