Rhea E. Wisdom, age 78, of Duenweg, Mo. long time resident of Marshalltown passed away at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, January 18, 2006 at Freeman Hospital West in Joplin, Missouri following six months of ill health. Graveside services will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at the Benson Cemetery, in Whitten, Iowa with Helmer "Pete" Peterson, officiating. Creps-Abels Funeral Home in Eldora is handling the arrangements.

Rhea was born October 13, 1927 in Moneta, Iowa to Gurney Reeves Edwards and Lola Iona Lighter Edwards Vinton. She moved to the Joplin, Missouri area two years ago from Marshalltown, Iowa. She was a Housewife. She attended the College Heights Christian Church in Joplin and was a longtime member of the Hillside Church of Christ in Marshalltown. She was a volunteer at the Marshalltown Medical & Surgical Center Gift Shop in Marshalltown for many years. She married Johnny A. Wisdom in Marshalltown and he preceded her in death in 1993. She was also preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, Wilma Delozier, and Ruth Ricketts, and one nephew, Daniel Lee Edwards.

Survivors include one brother, G.K. Edwards, Carl Junction, Mo., one sister Marcia Backstrand, Colorado Springs, Colorado, three nephews, Russell Edwards, Las Vegas, Nevada, Ronald Edwards, Coopersville, Michigan, and Dennis Edwards, Moberly, Mo., two nieces, Marilyn Edwards, Carl Junction, Mo., and Pamela Edwards, Duenweg, Mo. six great nieces and nephews and two great great nieces and nephews.
