Jody Jane Drum Freese, 47, of Colbran, Colorado, died on Saturday, March 25, 2006 at the University of Iowa Hospitals in Iowa City, Iowa.

Jody was born February 12, 1959, in Cedar Falls, Iowa, daughter of Robert and Darlyce (Smith) Drum. She grew up in Cedar Falls moving to Grundy Center when she was in Junior High School. She graduated from Grundy Center High School in 1977. On February 19, 1977, she was united in marriage to Terry Freese at the Pleasant Valley Reformed Church. They lived in Holland, Iowa from 1977 until 1987 when they moved to Dubuque, Iowa. Jody worked as an Educational Associate at the Table Mound Elementary School in Dubuque, and was deeply devoted to her students. The couple separated in 2004 and she moved to Colbran, Colorado.

Surviving is her daughter: Sara and her husband Tim Flynn of Dubuque, Iowa; parents: Robert and Darlyce Drum of Dike, Iowa; a sister: Vicki Goshen of Cedar Falls, Iowa; and a brother: Dan Drum and his wife Jeika of Cedar Falls, Iowa. She was preceded in death by a son Dean Allen Freese.
