Jeanne Washington Holmes, 45, of Lawndale, California, formerly of Cedar Falls, Iowa, died Wednesday, April 26, 2006, at Torrance Memorial Hospital in Torrance, California, after a long illness. Following cremation, memorial services will be 10:30 A.M., Wednesday, May 10, 2006, at First Presbyterian Church in Reinbeck, Iowa, with Pastor Randy Mc-Grady Beach officiating. Burial will follow at the Reinbeck Cemetery in Reinbeck, Iowa.

She was born June 4, 1960, in Cedar Falls, daughter of Claude and Kathy (Campbell) Washington. Jeanne attended Cedar Falls High School. She graduated from El Camino College in Torrance, California. She was married first to Darwin "Andy" Anderson, and they were later divorced. Jeanne and Michael A. Holmes were married in 1992 in California.

She is survived by her husband, Mike of Lawndale, California; step-children Melody and A.J. Holmes; her parents Claude and Kathy Washington, of Reinbeck, Iowa; her grandmother Ethel Campbell, of Reinbeck, Iowa; one sister Julie Baskins and husband Kerry of Overland Park, Kansas; one brother Jim Washington of Kansas City, Missouri; and her mother-in-law January Holmes of Eagle, Idaho.

Jeanne was preceded in death by one step-daughter Arleta Holmes.
