Dennis L. Weltha, 65, of Reinbeck, Iowa, died Saturday, November 19, 2005, at his home, while under the care of Cedar Valley Hospice. Following cremation, Memorial Services will be 10:00 A.M., Saturday, November 26, 2005, at the United Methodist Church in Reinbeck, Iowa, with Pastor Dave Nolte officiating. The family will receive friends from 3:00 P.M. to 6:00 P.M., Friday, November 25, 2005, at French Hand Funeral Home in Reinbeck. A memorial fund has been established.

Dennis was born September 11, 1940, in Randall, Iowa, the son of Clarion and Julia (Tjernagel) Weltha. He received his education in Roland, Iowa, and also graduated from Roland High School. Dennis then attended Ellsworth Junior College in Iowa Falls, and received his Associate's Degree. He also attended classes at Iowa State University in Ames. On June 21, 1963, Dennis was united in marriage to Dorothy Aswegan at the United Methodist Church in Grundy Center. After their marriage, they moved to Arlington, Texas, where Dennis was a manager at Buddies Supermarket. In 1965, they moved to Roland, Iowa, and he was employed at Reuben H. Donnelly in Nevada, Iowa, until 1968. In 1968, the family moved to Marion, Iowa, and Dennis worked at Rockwell Collins in Computer Applications for thirty years. He retired in 1997 and Dennis and Dorothy made Reinbeck their home. Dennis was a member of the United Methodist Church in Reinbeck, where he had served as a Church Trustee. He served on the Reinbeck Development Committee where he was instrumental in getting the entrance signs to the city completed. Dennis also served on the Grundy County Development Alliance, had served as the former chairman of the Reinbeck Cable Committee, the Reinbeck Lions Club, and he also worked part-time for Moeller and Walter in Reinbeck when they first moved to town. Dennis was a community minded individual who enjoyed helping others. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and brother.

Dennis is survived by his wife Dorothy Weltha of Reinbeck; three daughters Donna Hageman of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and her two children Morgan and Ambur Hageman; Tracy Howe and her husband Dan of Camdenton, Missouri, and their four children Abigail, Addison, Thomas, and Rhianna Howe; Nikki Weltha of Reinbeck; four brothers Reuben Weltha and his wife Bernice of Grandbury, Texas; William Weltha and his wife Jeneta of Winterset, Iowa; Duane Weltha and his wife Beverly of Marion, Iowa; Lawrence Weltha and Dr. L.A. Wills of Fort Worth, Texas; four sisters Charlotte Koeningsberg and her husband Alva of Bemidji, Minnesota; Joan Rouse and her husband Paul of Grundy Center, Iowa; Jean Dole and her husband Harry of Grundy Center, Iowa; Betty Lage and her husband Kent of Roland, Iowa; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents Clarion and Julia Weltha; two brothers Daniel and David Weltha; and one sister Lois Krebs.
