Old Resident Dies

Mrs. Grace Aswegan died at her home in Fern Saturday at twelve o'clock at the age of 80 years, after an illness of 4 days, her birthday being last Thursday. She was born in Collinghorst, Germany, Sept. 25, 1850. She was united in marriage to Onnan Milfs in 1872 and to this union one child, a son, was born. Two years later Mr. Milfs died and two years later she was united in marriage to Luke D. Aswegan. The family came to America in 1880, settling in Grundy county, where they have lived ever since. For the past 16 years they have made their home in Fern. The second husband died Sept. 30, 1923.

Those left to survive are Mrs. Henry Beenken of Mason City; Mrs. C. C. Walterman, Stout; Milf Milfs, Fern; Lewis Aswegan and Luke Aswegan, Fern; Dave Aswegan, Stewartville, Minn.; Mrs. Amos Aswegan, Stout; Johnny Aswegan, New Hartford; Henry L. Aswegan, Fern.

Funeral services were held from the home at one o'clock and from the Lutheran church at two, Rev. Paulson officiating. Burial was made in the Lutheran cemetery.
