Dike Man Dies Week After Passing Of Son

End Comes For Hans Aagard in Iowa City Hospital

Hans Aagard, long time resident of northeast Grundy, died in a hospital at Iowa City last Thursday following an illness of several months. He went to the hospital July 17th and submitted to treatment and an operation for relief from kidney trouble. He didn't respond to operation or the treatment.

A week before, Mr. Aagard's son Jim was killed while falling down a ravine at a farm near Cedar Rapids.

Mr. Aagard was born in Denmark 67 years ago. He came to this country when a young man and has made his home in northeast Grundy continually. He is survived by his wife and two sons, Hans of Anamosa and Al of Waterloo.

Funeral services conducted by Rev. Stockholm were held at the Fredsville church last Saturday afternoon. The remains were laid beside the new made grave of his son in the Fredsville cemetery.
