Dies from Kidney Trouble

Funeral services for Menno Schmidt, 36, who died Thursday evening of kidney trouble at the Robert Wiarda home north of Austinville, where he worked as a farm hand, were conducted Monday afternoon from the Westfriesland Presbyterian church, in German township southeast of Ackley, by Rev. F. W. Engelke. Burial was in the church cemetery.

Mr. Schmidt was born in Germany and came to America some years ago, obtaining work as a farm hand. His family lives in Germany. The numbers of the Martin Raymeyer family were his only relatives here.

Memo Smitt was buried Monday in East Friesland cemetery. Rev. Engelke had charge of the services. Mr. Smitt who had been employed as a farm hand had been in this country about seven years. He died Thursday evening, at the Robert Wiarde home. He had no near relatives in this country; his family in Germany.
