Mrs. Hillert Jacobs Dies After Long Illness

Mrs. Hillert Jacobs died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Arend Pruisner, Sunday morning following an illness of several months from cancer. On the 26th of last April she submitted to an operation at the hospital at Waverly. Only temporary relief followed this operation. She was brought home three weeks later and was taken to the home of her daughter where she remained bedfast for thirteen weeks, all of which time she had the constant care of the members of her family and a trained nurse. She suffered very little during her declining days and up to the past few weeks she looked forward to getting well.

Mrs. Jacobs was 59 years old. She was born in Bruns Brattel, Holstein, Germany, on Jan. 12th, 1870. When she was 12 years of age she came with her family to Grundy county and made her home here continually. In 1889 she was married to Henry Nou. Mr. Nou died two years later. One daughter, Emma, came from this union. The daughter died October 21st, 1922. On March 17, 1892, she was married a second time to Hillert Jacobs. There was one daughter from this union, Christina, now Mrs. Arend Pruisner. Aside from her husband and daughter, Mrs. Jacobs is survived by her sister, Mary, who lives at LeRoy, Minn., and her brother, Peter Frenzen, from Lincoln, Nebraska.

Funeral services are being held this afternoon at the Reformed church in Stout with the local pastor in charge. Burial will be in the Lutheran church cemetery.
