Old Holland Resident Dead

Mrs. Harm Kramer Passed Away Friday Morning

Mrs. Harm Kramer died at her home in Holland Friday morning. She had been sick for a number of weeks and about ten days before her death she suffered a stroke of paralysis which brought on the end quickly.

Mrs. Kramer was the oldest person living in Holland. She was in her 91st year. She was a native of Ostfriesland, Germany, but spent most of her long life in this country. She and her family were among the early residents of Grundy county. They lived on a farm in Colfax township for many years and during the past quarter of a century Mrs. Kramer made her home in the town of Holland. Her husband died about twelve years ago. She was the mother of three children. The children are all dead. The deceased children were a son, Harm, and two daughters, Mrs. John Frerichs and Mrs. Milf Meyer.

Funeral services were held at the Lutheran church in Holland Monday. Burial was in the Holland cemetery.

Obituary

Feke Kramer, born Begers, at Hollen, Ostfriesland, Germany, August 30, 1838, was married to Harm Kramer in 1857. To this union three children were born, Mrs. Folka Frerichs, Christian Kramer and Mrs.Lena Meyer, all of whom have preceded her in death. In 1868 Mr. and Mrs. Kramer came to America. They lived on a farm in Colfax township twenty-two years and then moved to Holland where she resided until her death on January 18, 1929. She reached the age of 90 years, 4 months and 18 days. Her husband preceded her in death 17 years ago. She leaves 12 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

Present at the funeral were the following relatives:
Harm Kramer, Allison; Chris Lammers, Clarion; Ben Johnson, Clarion; Lambert Meyer and children, Hampton; Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Meyer, Hampton; Mr. and Mrs. Bert Venenga, Hampton; Thos. Meyer, Hampton; Mrs. Donald Lackey, Cedar Rapids; Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Reisch, Hampton; Mr. and Mrs. H. J. Frerichs and son, Wellsburg; Mr. and Mrs. Wort Meyer, Wellsburg.

Funeral services were held at the Lutheran church in Holland Monday. Burial was in the Holland cemetery.
