J. H. Cook Dead

John Henry Cook, for twenty-five years a farmer in Grant township and for several years thereafter a resident of Reinbeck, died Dec. 31st at 10 o'clock at the home of his son, Richard, after an illness of many months. A blood disease for which medical skill could do nothing caused his death.

Mr. Cook, after his retirement from farming, gained considerable notice in this part of Iowa as a healer, curing diseases by "divine" methods. For several years he maintained an office at Marshalltown and had a wide practice until ill health forced him to quit.

His wife died several years ago and he is survived by his son, Richard, and one daughter, Mrs. Peter Petersen, of Waterloo. Funeral services were held at the home Thursday afternoon and burial was made in the Dike cemetery.
