Pioneer Washington Twp. Woman Dead
Jennie Louise Thompson, daughter of Andrew and Rebecca Thompson, was born in Henderson county, Illinois, March 22, 1863, and died at Morrison, Iowa, Dec. 19, 1928, being 65 years, 6 months and 27 days old.
When she was but a small child she came with her parents to a farm in Washington township and later moved to Morrison so that nearly her whole life was spent in that community.
She joined the Morrison Presbyterian church in February, 1879, being at the time of her death the oldest member who had continuous membership. She lived a sincere Christian life, always attending the services of the church when her health would permit. For thirty years she has been in poor health, which prevented her from taking an active part in the affairs of life. During all the long years she has been a patient, cheerful sufferer, always interested in the affairs of the church and community.
She is survived by one brother, Peter Thompson, Luverne, Iowa; three sisters, Mrs. Cassie Merriam, Algona; Mrs. Emma Betinger, Minneapolis; Addie Thompson, Morrison; besides a number of nieces and nephews and a host of friends.
The funeral was held from the Morrison Presbyterian church Friday afternoon conducted by her pastor, Rev. Geo. A. Wickwire. Interment was in the Grundy Center cemetery.
