Reinbeck Man Is Found Dead

Body Found Partially Immersed in Water Tank Sunday

Fred Meyers, 75, who had made his home for a great many years in the vicinity of Reinbeck, was found Sunday evening dead in a water tank partly filled with water on the Herman Fitje place in the south part of Reinbeck.

He was dead when found and at first it was thought that he had become dizzy and fallen head-first into the tank and drowned, but further investigation led to the discovery that his lungs contained no water and therefore it is believed he must have suffered heart failure as he was stooping over the edge of the tank. When found his feet were hanging over the edge of the water tank.

Meyers had worked for a number of years for the late Thos. Copley on the latter's farm northwest of Reinbeck. Of later years he had made his home in town. He is not known to have any living relatives.
