Donald Everett Fink, second son of Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Fink, was born June 24th, 1916. His childhood days were spent on the farm between Beaman and Conrad, where his quiet, gentle ways drew to him a host of playmates not only from neighboring farms but also in Beaman and Conrad.

On Tuesday, Aug. 7th, he was a victim of an automobile accident and after a lingering illness of six days departed this life at the Deaconess hospital in Marshalltown, where he had been removed for trained hands to care for him. At his death he was aged 12 years, 1 month and 19 days.

His untimely demise is mourned by father and mother, a brother, Lawrence, and a sister, Lurene, an aged grandmother and many other relatives.

"His gentle glance, his ready hand, were ours at our behest;
And now with tears and vacant hearts we lay him down to rest.
Rest, Donald, from life's toll and care in heaven ever young,
Be there to greet us with your smile when our life's song is sung."

Funeral services were held on Wednesday afternoon at 2:30 at the Conrad M.E. church. Rev. J. J. Snyder, pastor of the Beaman M.E. church, conducted the services. The flowers were cared for by Mesdames Hamer Neff, F. L. Miller, Elzy Smith and Dewey Hunt. Beautiful hymns were sung by Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Phillips.

The pallbearers were six boy friends, Junior Miller, Wilbur Galloway, Leon Smith, Wayne Bartholomew, Raymond Kock and Ervin Bradley. Interment was made in Alice cemetery.
