Mrs. Alois Hulne Dies Suddenly At County Hospital
Mrs. Alois Hulne, 64, wife of the widely known Grundy Center barber, died suddenly Friday of a heart attack at the Grundy County Memorial Hospital.
She had entered the hospital two days earlier for a checkup, and her sudden death came as a shock both to her family and many friends.
Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Sacred Heart Catholic church with Rev. Fr. P. C. Bodensteiner in charge. Burial was in Grundy Center cemetery.
Mrs. Hulne, the former Rose Connell, was born April 7, 1900, in Palermo township, the daughter of Jeremiah and Bridget Connell. She was a lifelong resident of Grundy Center.
On October 19, 1922, she was united in marriage to Alois Hulne at Grundy Center.
Survivors include her widower; three sons, Robert of Anoka, Minn., Joe of Grundy Center, and Charles of Chicago, Ill., one daughter, Rosie, Mrs. Marvin Ralston, Grundy Center, and 16 grandchildren.
Also surviving are four sisters, Mrs. W. H. Kinsinger and Miss Marge Connell, both of Grundy Center, Sister Mary Carmelita of Ottumwa, and Mrs. J. L. Murphy of Waterloo; and two brothers, Fr. John Connell of Tampa, Fla., and Tom Connell, Waterloo.
She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, and two sisters.
