Dorothy Marie Doak, infant daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Linn Doak, was born August 13th, 1927, and passed away September 9th, 1927, having lived only three weeks and six days. Her illness was of very short duration, about 24 hours.
Her stay in the home, though but such a short while, endeared herself much to her parents and her little brothers and sister.
She leaves to mourn her sudden taking away her parents, two brothers, Lyle and Irvin Dale, and one sister, Isabel, grandparents and other relatives.
We watched her breathing thru the night,
Her breathing soft and low,
As in her breast the wave of life
Kept heaving to and fro.
So silently we seemed to speak,
So slowly moved about,
As we had lent her half our powers
To eke her living out.
Our very hope belied our fears,
Our fears our hopes belied;
We thought her dying when she slept,
And sleeping when she died.
For when the morn came dim and sad,
And chill with early showers,
Her quiet eyelids closed--she had
another morn than ours.
