Old Morrison Resident Dies

Jake Snow Passed Away at His Home Sunday Morning

Jake Snow died at his home in Morrison Sunday morning at 8:15 a.m. of old age, being almost 78 years old.

Mr. Snow was born in Philadelphia Sept. 9th, 1849. He came west to Illinois when about ten years old, and came to Grundy county when twenty-one years of age, and has been a resident of Morrison until the time of his death. His wife, Mrs. Sarah Thompson Snow, preceded him in death three years ago.

Mr. Snow leaves to mourn his death four children, Mrs. Mary Holt, of Peoria, Ill.; Andy Snow of Lake Park; Mrs. Gertrude Meyer of Morrison; Elmer Snow of Bakersfield, Calif.; and 14 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

The funeral was held at his late home Tuesday afternoon, conducted by Rev. Pollock of the United Presbyterian church of Reinbeck and interment took place in the cemetery south of town beside his departed wife.
