Ted deSilva, 29, who died Tuesday at the Veterans hospital in Des Moines from perforated ulcers, was a son-in-law of Mrs. Lucille Wood of Conrad and the husband of the former Barbara Wood. Funeral services will be in Conrad Thursday.

Theodore deSilva Dies at Hospital

Theodore Manuel deSilva, age 29, passed away Tuesday at the Veterans hospital in Des Moines. He had been in ill health for several years. Funeral services will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. at the Johnston Funeral Home in Conrad, with burial in the Conrad cemetery. The American Legion will be in charge of the graveside services.

Theodore Manuel deSilva was born April 14, 1921, at Oakland, Calif., the son of Mr. and Mrs. Manuel deSilva of Oakland. He is survived by his widow, two sons, Byran and Bruce; his parents, three brothers, Harold and Milton, both in military service and Donald of Oakland; and a sister, Cecelia of Oakland.

The family has resided in Conrad for the past four years. Mr. deSilva was employed as an auto salesman in Marshalltown. He served in the army air corps during World War II.
