Obituary Casper Arends

Casper Arends, son of Mr. and Mrs. Kasper Arends, was born on Feb. 17, 1901, at Austinville, and died March 25 in Chicago at the age of 49 years, 1 month, 8 days.

He spent the early years of his life around Austinville and Aplington before going to Chicago in 1927. He was married to Ada Fostaer and they were blessed with four children, one of whom preceded him in death as did his father in 1924. Two half-sisters, Anna and Gertie, both of Aplington, also preceded him in death.

He leaves to mourn his death his beloved wife, Ada, and three children: Harold, 19, Anita, 10, and Jack, 7, his mother and step-father, Mr. and Mrs. Tom Park of Ventura, Iowa; a sister, Mrs. Harm Winterboer of Everly, Ia.; two brothers, Henry of Jeffers, Minn., and John of Harris, Ia.; two half-brothers, Arend of Iowa Falls and Harry of Waterloo.

Funeral services were held last Thursday afternoon at the West Friesland Presbyterian church with Rev. P. Eekhoff in charge. Burial was in the church cemetery.
