James Taylor passed away at his home in this place last Sunday morning, at the age of 72 years. He had been in poor health since last summer and about a week ago he suffered a stroke of paralysis, from which he never fully recovered. He leaves a wife, five sons and one daughter besides a host of friends to mourn his departure. Funeral services were held at the M.E. church Monday afternoon, conducted by Rev. Trimble, and a large number of relatives and friends assembled to pay their last respects to the departed.
