James W. Prescott was born at Waterloo, Iowa, July 1, 1892. On December 13, 1916, he was married to Miss Fannie Schwarck of Grundy county. Two children were born to this union, Verna and Clayton.

For more than a year Mr. Prescott has been the victim of sickness and disease, and a few days ago was taken to Iowa City for treatment. This effort to give relief failed, and on Friday evening, April 2nd, he passed away.

There are left behind his wife and two children, and mother, Mrs. Hattie Prescott, of this place; also one sister, Mr. D. D. Woodmency, of Albion, Nebr., and one brother, Chester Prescott, of Grundy Center.

Funeral services were held from the M.E. church in Grundy Center Tuesday afternoon, Rev. F. O. Winslow officiating.
