Johanna "Jo" Dieken, 86, of Grundy Center, Iowa, died Monday, June 13, 2005, in Reno, Nevada, of natural causes. Funeral services will be 10:30 A.M., Wednesday, June 22, 2005, on Glenn and Jo's 57th Wedding Anniversary, at Bethany Presbyterian Church in Grundy Center, Iowa, with Pastor Kent Leydens officiating. Burial will follow at Rose Hill Cemetery in Grundy Center. Visitation will be Tuesday, June 21, 2005 from 4:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at Engelkes-Abels Funeral Home in Grundy Center with family present from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Memorials may be directed to the family.

Jo was born May 1, 1919, in Fern, Iowa, daughter of Omke and Martha (Radamaker) Engelkes. On June 22, 1949 Jo was united in marriage to Glenn R. Dieken. She worked as a school teacher. Jo was a member of Lions, P.E.O., O.E.S., 9x8 Leader Dogs, and the First Presbyterian Bell Choir among other church affiliated associations.

She is survived by her husband, Glenn of Grundy Center, and her son Tim and his wife Vickie Dieken of Reno, Nevada. She was preceded in death by her parents.
