Judy K. Sealman, 67, of Grundy Center, passed away at her home on Thursday, September 29, 2011 while under Cedar Valley Hospice. A funeral service will be held on Monday, October 3rd, 10:30 A.M. at the First Presbyterian Church in Grundy Center with Pastor Mike Campbell officiating. Visitation will be held on Sunday from 5 to 7 P.M. at Engelkes-Abels Funeral Home in Grundy Center. Burial will follow funeral services at Rosehill Cemetery in Grundy Center.

Judy was born on July 26, 1944 in Waterloo, Iowa, the daughter of Harold & Wanida (Vogt) Plaehn. She was raised in Dinsdale until 1959, when her family moved to Grundy Center. Judy attended school in Grundy Center, graduating in 1962. After graduation, she attended Pitsy's Beauty School in Waterloo and worked for a short time as a beautician. Judy married Robert Sealman on June 5, 1967 at the United Church of Christ in Reinbeck. The couple resided in Grundy Center and welcomed a son and daughter into their family. Judy was a stay at home mom for many years and in the mid 1990's, she worked for 5 ½ years at Spokesman Press in Grundy Center.

Judy enjoyed shooting sports such as trapshooting, enjoyed playing cards and she enjoyed watching sports. Her true love in life was her family and being involved in her children's activities all throughout their lives. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

She is survived by her husband Bob of Grundy Center; children Brandon (Jessica) of Dallas, TX and Bobbi of Grundy Center; brothers Donald & Larry Plaehn.

She was preceded in death by her parents.
