Elizabeth "Betty" J. Boelts, 84, of Aplington, formerly of Wellsburg, passed away on Monday, December 26, 2011 at the Maple Manor Village in Aplington. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, December 31, 2011 at 11:00 A.M. at West Friesland Presbyterian Church in rural Ackley. Visitation will be held one hour prior to services at the church. Burial will follow funeral services at the church cemetery.

Betty enjoyed sewing, gardening, reading and reading her Bible.

She is survived by her husband Marvin Boelts of Parkersburg; children Arlen Boelts of West Des Moines, Donna Boelts of Avondale, AZ and Sharon Widmer of St. Bonifacious, MN; 2 grandchildren Michelle Willer and Stephen Sciachitano; 2 great-grandchildren Haley and Stephen Jr.; sister Marion Boelts of Wellsburg and a sister-in-law Ruth Siems.

Betty was preceded in death by her parents; sister Sena Franken and brothers Sweer, Ben, John, Fredie and Raymond Siems.
