Lavonne "Lonny" Marie Schroeder, 85, passed away on Sunday, February 26, 2012, at Covenant Hospital in Waterloo, from complications of a stroke while under Hospice care. There will be no visitation and services will be at a later date. Burial will be in the Reinbeck Cemetery.

Lavonne was born September 6, 1926, in Reinbeck, Iowa, to James Henry and lda Katherine (Sweerin) Ritchey. She graduated from Reinbeck High School in 1945. She married Herbert W. Schroeder, January 10, 1946, at the Little Brown Church, Nashua, Iowa. She was employed at Powers Manufacturing in Waterloo for many years.

After leaving there, she worked at nursing homes in the Independence area as an aide. After moving to Sumner, she was an aide at the Sumner nursing home until her retirement. After moving back to Reinbeck, she was a faithful member of St. John's Lutheran Church. While a resident of Parkview Manor in Reinbeck, she was always visiting with the other residents and staff.

Lavonne is survived by a sister, Audrey Schneider of Reinbeck; three nephews, Carl, Kent, and Lynn Schneider; two nieces, Wanda Dreier and Gayle (Dan) Webb; two great nephews and one great niece.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her son James in 1989, her husband in 1992; and a sister, Marguerite in 2000.
