Phyllis Ihns, 87 of Lincoln, Iowa died Friday, December 21, 2012, at Grundy County Memorial Hospital Long Term Care in Grundy Center, Iowa while under the care of hospice. Funeral services will be 1:30 P.M., Thursday, December 27, 2012, at French Hand Funeral Home in Reinbeck, Iowa, with Pastor Barbara Muhs officiating. Burial will take place at a later date. Visitation will be 12:00 pm till time of service, Thursday, December 27, 2012, at French Hand Funeral Home in Reinbeck. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the family.

Phyllis Janet was born to Robert and Fern (Mensink) Westphal on August 7, 1925 in Fillmore, Minnesota. She grew up in the Fillmore area. On May 29, 1946 Phyllis was united in marriage to Melvin Ihns in Greenleafton, MN.

Phyllis was a member of the saddle club and an honorary member of the AMVET auxiliary. She loved the outdoors, camping and especially enjoying life. Phyllis loved spending time with family and friends.

Phyllis is survived by her husband, Melvin: children, Alice (Gary) Oelschlager, Connie (William) Hunt, Dennis (Connie) Ihns; 6 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren; 2 brothers, Wendall and Merton Westphal; many nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents; grandchild and two brothers.
