Monday night the elder Mrs. Sanders, nee Sievertje Straten, passed away at the home of her daughter, Mrs. John Harms, at Steamboat Rock. She was born the first of February, 1836, at Tichelwarf, Germany. Her husband, Wilhelm Sanders, preceded her in death the 8th of April, 1921. She leaves two sons, Wm. Sanders of Steamboat Rock, and four daughters, Mrs. John Harms, of Steamboat Rock, Mrs. L. Behrends, of Holland, Mrs. John Groenwolt, of Browns Valley and Mrs. Herman Groenwolt, of Norcross, Minn. Services are to be held at the Bode church Friday at one o'clock and interment at the Drake church.

The funeral of Grandma Sanders, who died on September 7th, was held last Friday. Services were at the Bode church. Interment was made in the Drake cemetery. Mrs. Sanders was born in Ostfriesland, Germany, in 1836 and was 89 years old at the time of her death. Since the death of her husband, William Sanders, four years ago, she has been making her home with her daughter, Mrs. John Harms. She is survived by two sons, William of Steamboat Rock and Gus from West Bend. The four daughters are Mrs. John Hams, Mrs. L. Berends, of Holland, Mrs. John Groeneveld, from Browns Valley and Mrs. Herman Groeneveld, from Norcross, Minn.
