Death of G. H. Whitmire

George Harvey Whitmire, son of Joseph and Sarah Whitmire, was born near Berwick, Penn., Nov. 28th, 1854, and died at his home north of Conrad, April 6th, 1925, aged 70 years, 4 months and 8 days.

About forty-five years ago he came to Grundy county, and he has lived in this county continuously ever since.

On March 23rd, 1889, he was united in marriage to Anna C. Hanisch. To this union was born five children, as follows: Elmer, of Helm, Calif.; Mrs. Ralph Fink, Chas. F., Leonard R. and Frances S. All are residents of this county except Elmer.

Besides the wife and children named above who survive him, there are four grandchildren, three sisters and three brothers.

Mr. Whitmire was regarded as an exemplary citizen, a hard worker and a good provider for his family and he will be keenly missed by not only the loved ones, but by the entire community where he has resided for so many years.

Funeral services were held from the Alice Church of God at 10:30 a.m. today (Thursday). Rev. E. E. Heltibridle of this city, a former pastor of that church, officiating and interment was in the Alice cemetery.
