Herold G. Foxworthy, 83, of Aplington, formerly of Dike, passed away on Friday, May 24th at the Cedar Valley Hospice Home in Waterloo. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, May 29th at 11:00 A.M. at the Engelkes-Abels Funeral Home in Grundy Center. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 28th from 5 to 7 P.M. at the Engelkes-Abels Funeral Home. Burial will follow the funeral service at the Rosehill Cemetery in Grundy Center.

Herold was born on July 31, 1929 in Weatherby, Missouri, the son of Clarence and Orpah (Shaw) Foxworthy. He grew up in Missouri and graduated from high school in Winston, MO. Herold was united in marriage to Barbara Johnson on December 3, 1949 in Winston. The couple moved to the Cedar Falls/Dike area where they raised their family. The two later divorced. Herold worked for John Deere in Waterloo and later began working for Viking Pump in Cedar Falls, where he retired after 40+ years of service.

He enjoyed playing cards, snowmobiling and enjoyed being around people. He loved dogs and horses, especially his dog Annie. Herold also leaves behind his barrel racing friends, who were very dear to him. He will be forever loved and remembered by all those he leaves behind.

Herold is survived by his children Connie (Don) Dinsdale of Reinbeck, Bonnie Davis of Cedar Falls and her special friend Paul Stauffer of Clarksville & Larry (Tammy) Foxworthy of Dike; grandchildren Tracy Brooks, Rob (Pam) Walters, Shane Davis, Taryn (Evan) Stahl & Trista (Brian) Wolff; great-grandchildren Joel & Zack Davis, Taylor Pearson, Isabelle Brooks, Madelyn Walters and Ella Walters; sister Dorothy Rasco and brother Loren (Christine) Foxworthy, both of Missouri; his special friend Denise Dao and her children Ben Dao (deceased), Ryan, Dao, Jackie Dao and Lindsey Dao; friend Donna Jacobson & family.

He was preceded in death by his parents; grandson Laine Davis; brothers Marion & Mervin Foxworthy.
