John Robert Bereczki, 74, of Reinbeck, Iowa, died Wednesday, November 26, 2014, at Parkview Manor in Reinbeck, Iowa while under the care of Unity Point Hospice. A Memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 29, 2014 at 2:00 P.M. at the Saint Gabriel Catholic Church in Reinbeck. Visitation will be held one hour prior to service at the church. Inurnment will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Unity Point Hospice.

John Robert was born November 15, 1940, Trenton, New Jersey, the son of John and Mary (Demyon) Bereczki. John grew up in the Chesterfield, New Jersey area. He attended school in Bordentown, New Jersey graduating from William McFarland High School. In 1961 John married Barbara Alice Coulter in Bordentown, NJ. To this union were born children, Sandy, John and Renee. John was a self-employed electrician in the Columbus New Jersey area retiring in 2004. John and Barbara moved to Iowa in 2004.

He was a member of St. Gabriel Catholic Church. He enjoyed politics, farming, and enjoyed a good meal. John enjoyed spending time with his family.

He is survived by his wife Barbara of Reinbeck; children Sandy (Drew) Olsen of Geneva, IL, John (Carolyn) Bereczki of Toledo and Renee Thompson of Burlington, NJ; grandchildren, Ian (Denise) Sager, Arielle Bereczki, Sarah Bereczki, Zachary Thompson, Madison Thompson, Jason Thompson, Trevor Olsen; brother, Jim Bereczki of Florida.

John was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Louis and sister, Mary.
