Obituary of Mrs. Krog

Ellen Sophie Krog, born Johnson, was born in Pine River, Wis., the 28th February, 1862. In 1867 she immigrated with her parents to Iowa and settled on a farm about a mile south of Cedar Falls. They lived there a year and then moved to Grundy county to the farm now occupied by her brother, J. O. Johnson, living there until her marriage in 1884 to Christen Krog.

They settled on their farm at Fredsville and lived there with the exception of four years, until 1914, when they moved to Dike where she died November 28, 1924, at the age of 62 years and 9 months.

To this union were born nine children, two of whom died while very small. She leaves to mourn her loss her husband and seven children, Ole, Ellen, Carrie, Inger, May, Agnes and George, and five grandchildren, which were at her bedside at the time of her death. She also leaves two brothers, J. O. Johnson, of Fredsville, and Andrew Johnson, of Pasadena, Calif.

The funeral services were held at the home in Dike and at the Fredsville church Tuesday afternoon conducted by Rev. Stockholm and the remains laid to rest in the cemetery near the church.
