Arvilla L. Miller Smith of Upland, CA., formerly of Grundy Center, graduated in 1943 was born on May 6, 1925. She passed on October 5, 2014.

A memorial service was held on Saturday, October 25, at the Rose Hill Cemetery.

She worked for Lanternman State Hospital in Pamona for 25 years.

She was preceded in death by her sister, Carolina Lamb; brother, James; mother and father, Jacob and Hannah (Riebkus) Miller; husband, Fred T. Smith, Jr.; and son, Kyle T. Smith.

Arvilla is survived by Thomas F. Smith, Fred (Janet) Smith and Lorraine (William) Brustad. There are five grandchildren Thomas G. Smith, DuWayne and Tammy Smith, Eric and Heather L. Brustad. There are three grandchildren.
