Obituary of Harm Fred Korthous

On Wednesday morning the little baby boy of Mr. and Mrs. John Korthaus was buried in the city cemetery. Harm Fred Korthous was born on the 18th day of August, 1923, and grew into a sweet, healthy babyhood, a great delight and blessing to his parents and admiration and interest to his sister and brother. During the severe weather of January he suffered an attack of bronchial pneumonia and his little spirit flitted away on last Sunday morning, Feb. 3rd, 1924, just after his little face had lighted up with a sweet smile. The funeral services were held at the First Presbyterian church at ten thirty o'clock. Mrs. Jack Souers sang very tenderly "Asleep in Jesus" and "Safe in the Arms of Jesus," and the pastor spoke from the text II Samuel 12:23, "I shall go to him but he will not return to me." His presence will be sadly missed from the household and the parents have the sympathy of the community in their sorrow. Even a short life has its mission and can glorify God and little Harm Fred Korthous has gone to the heavenly home which is pictured for us as the New Jerusalem with boys and girls playing in the streets thereof.
