Harm Van Dees was born August 12, 1855, in Stoppelmorer-heide, Ostfriesland, Germany. On Nov. 22nd, 1883, he was united in holy wedlock with Gertje Kriers of Wienir, Ostfriesland. About two weeks before his death he went out in the county with his son, Jasper, residing near Beaman, and shortly after arriving at the farm he suffered another stroke, and on Oct. 20, 1923, death released him from his suffering.

He leaves to mourn his death his wife, six children, Jasper Van Dees, Beaman; Mrs. R. Kaput, Lyle, Minn.; Mrs. Will Wiese, Greene, Ia.; Mrs. Dick Vry, Green Mountain, Iowa; Mrs. Albert Kauffman, Green Mountain, Ia.; Mrs. Henry DeVogt, Green Mountain, Ia.; three sisters, Mrs. J. Winterboer, Bunde, Germany; Mrs. J. Kaput, Beaman; Mrs. A. Koch, Beaman, and many other relatives and friends.
