Mrs. Daniel L. Bockes

Elizabeth Gingerich was born in Summerset, Pennsylvania, June 23rd, 1851, and departed this life at her home in Conrad, Iowa, October 3rd, 1923, age 72 years, 3 months and 9 days.

Mrs. Bockes had not been in good health for a number of years. Recently she suffered a stroke that left her in a helpless condition. She gradually grew worse and finally succumbed after suffering the third stroke. Her physical condition has been very poor of late, making her very liable to disease. She was a woman of robust nature in her earlier life.

She was married to Daniel L. Bockes on August 7th, 1887. To this union was born one son, Lloyd Bockes.

Mrs. Bockes united with the Dunkard church in early life and has been a member in good standing in that church all of these years.

She was a good neighbor, a good mother and a devoted wife. She was a long, patient sufferer, but always very cheerful and gladly welcomed her many friends when they would call at her bedside to pay her a visit.

While she loved life, yet she often expressed her desire to go Home where there would be no more pain or suffering, but was content to wait God's time.
