Mrs. Reynolds Rites Scheduled On Friday

Funeral services for Mrs. Minnie H. Reynolds of Grundy Center will be held at 1 p.m. Friday from the Ferree Funeral Home with Rev. A. Harold Sparks in charge. Burial will be in the Grundy Center cemetery.

Mrs. Reynolds, 84, passed away Tuesday at the Grundy Custodial Home.

Services Were Friday For Minnie Reynolds

Services were held Friday for Mrs. Minnie H. Reynolds, who passed away Tuesday, February 18, at the age of 84. The services were in charge of Rev. A. Harold Sparks in the chapel of the Ferree Funeral home. Burial was in the Grundy Center cemetery.

Minnie H. Reynolds, the daughter of Lewis and Marie Hjelum, was born in Sabula, Iowa, Dec. 8, 1879. Most of her early life was spent in Peterson, Iowa, where she attended school and later married Naaman W. Reynolds on Sept. 7, 1898. Shortly after their marriage, they moved to Grundy Center, where the remaining years of her life were spent.

She was a member of the First Methodist church and was active in the choir and other departments of the church for many years. She was a 50-year member of the Eastern Star and a Past Worthy Matron of that organization.

Mrs. Reynolds had been in failing health for the past year. On Nov. 2nd she became a patient at the Grundy County Memorial Hospital and remained there until January 6, when she was taken to the Grundy Center Custodial home, where she passed away on Feb. 18 at the age of 84.

She was preceded in death by her husband, May 1, 1955; also by her daughter, Mrs. Elsie Haren, March 25, 1956, and her son, Lewis, on July 5, 1961.

Surviving are a sister, Mrs. Laura Sherman, who has made her home with Mrs. Reynolds for the past 4 1/2 years; a grandson, Naaman, his wife, Mary, and his father, Hubert J. Haren, all of Grundy Center; a granddaughter, Laura Marie; her husband, James H. Sperry, and their daughters, Sally and Melinda, of Worland, Wyoming; a granddaughter, Connie, and her husband, Paul D. Balcom of Riverside, Calif.; and a grandson, Brad, with his mother, Dorothy Reynolds of Waterloo.
