Editor's Note: As is being reported elsewhere Marie Diekhoff is a patient in the hospital in Grundy Center. The editor of the Register learned with deep regret the report of Miss Diekhoff's serious illness. Marie has been sending news from Stout and vicinity during the past 40 years. Her news has been regular every week and reliable. She has been a correspondent of The Grundy Register longer than any other and the publishers of the Register and the readers of the paper in the Stout Community will miss her fine news service. The news items below were sent to the Register by members of the church at Stout.

Since writing the above, we were deeply sorry to hear that Marie died on Monday.--The Editor.
