Amos Show was born July 7, 1860, in Fayette co., Penn., and died Feb. 7, 1945, at his home in Morrison at the age of 84 years and 7 months.
He came to Iowa when a young man and spent the larger portion of his life in Grundy county. He was employed by the Morrison elevator for 27 years.
On Feb. 24, 1898, he was united in marriage to Christina Tjaden. Mrs. Show preceded him in death on April 25, 1921.
He is survived by 5 sons and 3 daughters, and 11 grandchildren. The children are Mrs. Jesse Mason, Cedar Rapids; Mrs. Joe Kennard, Estherville; Mrs. Ardell Keough, Iowa Falls; George Show, Estherville; LeRoy (Lee) Show, Navy Seabees in the So. Pacific; Raymond Show, Army, New Guinea; Emmett Show, Navy, Australia; Lutellus (Hap) Show, Army, now a German war prisoner.
Four grandsons now serving their country are: Alva Mason, army, in Germany; Elvin Mason, army, in So. Pacific; Jesse Mason, army, now a German war prisoner; Carol Kennard, navy, in the South Pacific.
Services were held at the Morrison church, Rev. Smith, pastor, Monday afternoon, and burial was beside his wife at Wellsburg.
Pallbearers were H. C. Buffington, Jesse Allgood, H. R. Stock, A. C. Quenrod, Albert Goble and Will Mortrude.

All pain, all aches, all suffering past,
The moon is shining on his grave,
