Mrs. W. E. Knock Died Saturday

Mrs. W. E. Knock died at her home in Wellsburg at four o'clock Saturday morning following an illness that covered a period of two years. She was 81 years, 6 months and 23 days old at the time of her death.

Spent Entire Life in Grundy County
Mrs. Knock spent her entire life in Grundy county in the vicinity of Wellsburg and in the town of Wellsburg. Her maiden name was Hendrina Jaspers. She was a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Jaspers, who were among the early residents of Grundy county. She was born in Shiloh township and she grew to womanhood there. She and W. E. Knock were married March 11, 1891, which was on her 20th birthday. The ceremony was performed by Rev. Ben Vander Las in the parsonage of the Colfax Presbyterian church. The couple began housekeeping on a farm and continued to reside on their farm until they moved to Wellsburg 35 years ago, after which they made their home here continually.

Married 61 Years
Mr. and Mrs. Knock were married 61 years ago on the 11th of last March. Very few couples are privileged to share their lives together for so many years.

After moving to Wellsburg Mr. and Mrs. Knock became affiliated with the Reformed church at Wellsburg and as long as her health permitted Mrs. Knock was a regular attendant at services in this church. She was a charter member of the Wellsburg Reformed church and a constant and helpful member of the Ladies' Aid Society of the church.

Mr. and Mrs. Knock became the parents of two sons and three daughters. One son and one daughter together with her parents preceded Mrs. Knock in death.

Surviving are the husband; one son, Eilert, and two daughters, Mrs. Claus C. Neessen and Mrs. Gust Fritzel, all of Wellsburg. There are six surviving grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Other surviving relatives are three sisters: Mrs. D. J. Peters, Wellsburg; Mrs. Martin Thomas, Marshalltown, and Mrs. John Neessen, Parkersburg.

Funeral Services Tuesday
Funeral services were held at the home at one o'clock Tuesday and later at the Reformed church at Wellsburg. Rev. Edw. Jurgens was the officiating pastor. Burial was in the cemetery adjoining the church.

Flower attendants at the service were Mrs. Richard Claassen and Miss Henrietta Paterni. The pallbearers were Elmer Ruter, Elmer Fritzel, Harold O'Kones, Harold Geerdes, Wilbur Knock and Jake Jaspers.
