Mrs. Geo. Neessen Died Sunday Night

Mrs. George Neessen died at her home in Wellsburg at ten o'clock Sunday night. She had been afflicted with cancer during the past year. She was 79 years, 8 months and 5 days old at the time of her death.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 on Thursday afternoon at the home and later at the Reformed church in Wellsburg. Rev. Edw. Jurgens will conduct the services. Burial will be by the side of the husband in the Wellsburg Reformed church cemetery.

Resided in Grundy County All Of Her Life
Mrs. Neessen resided in Grundy county all of her life. Her maiden name was Gertie Peters. She was a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Claus Peters. She was born on a farm in German township and she attended school and grew up there.

On November 24, 1894, Gertie Peters and George Neessen were married. They spent the first few years of their married life on a farm east of Wellsburg. After that they moved to Wellsburg where her husband entered the lumber business. She lived here continually up to the time of her death. Her husband died May 27, 1944, a few months before the couple could have observed their Golden Wedding anniversary.

Surviving are one son, Heiko G. Neessen; two daughters, Mrs. R. W. Ross and Mrs. Albert C. Nederhoff, Wellsburg. Other surviving relatives are ten grandchildren, two brothers and two sisters. The brothers are Reint C. Peters, Cedar Falls, and Simon Peters, Parkersburg. The sisters are Mrs. Henry Dudden, Grundy Center, and Mrs. Jacob Wolff, of Sibley.

Pallbearers are nephews. They are H. T. and H. C. Neessen, Fred Peters, John Groeneveld, Tim Dudden and William Peters.
