Coono Stoehr Dies At Hospital
Coono Stoehr, who spent a large portion of his life in Grundy county, died at Ellsworth hospital in Iowa Falls on June 19th. He was 63 years, 10 months and 3 days old at the time of his death.
Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon. There was a short service at Wood's funeral home in Iowa Falls and later at St. Paul's Lutheran church in Shiloh township. Rev. A. W. Malin officiated at the service. Burial was in the cemetery adjoining the church. There was a large attendance at the service.
Obituary
Coono W. Stoehr, the son of Wm. E. Stoehr and his wife Etta Brower, was born Aug. 16, 1882, in Shiloh twp., Grundy county. He grew to manhood in Grundy county and was married June 23, 1906, to Anna DeBuhr. After 20 years in Grundy county, the family moved to Iowa Falls where they have since resided.Coono was baptized, confirmed and married in St. Paul's Lutheran church and had maintained his membership with that church. He was ever found to be consistent in his faith, a devoted husband and father, a helpful neighbor and a good friend.
He is survived by his widow, Anna; four daughters, Edith (Mrs. B. J. Rash), Scottsbluff, Neb., Grace of Iowa Falls, Arvilla, Sioux City, and Gertrude (Mrs. F. W. Crockett) of Burbank, Calif.; 5 grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.
Also surviving are four sisters, Mrs. B. U. Venenga, Holland; Mrs. John Schoon, Holland; Mrs. Henry Rust and Mrs. Albert Loots of near Grundy Center; four half-sisters: Mrs. Melvin Fletcher, of Webster City; Mrs. Ben Grimmius Jr., Mrs. Leeno Grimmius, Grundy Center; Wilhelmina Stohr of Des Moines; one half-brother, Wm. Stoehr, Grundy Center; one step-sister, Mrs. Davida Meyer, of Wellsburg. Two brothers, John and Eggo, preceded him in death.
