Mrs. Floy Hood Dies In Hospital

Mrs. Floy Hood from Morrison died Sunday at the Grundy hospital. She was 81 years old. The body was brought to the Ferree Funeral Home in Grundy Center for funeral arrangements. Services were held Wednesday afternoon, January 27, at the Presbyterian church in Morrison. Rev. Robert Winter, pastor of the Methodist church at Beaman, conducted funeral services.

Mrs. Hood was a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Morrison. She was born in Grundy county.

Floy Morrison and John J. Hood were married at Morrison, February 3, 1903. the first few years after their marriage they lived in Missouri, and after that short period they returned to the Morrison vicinity where they made their home continually until the husband died January 15, 1938.

Following the death of her husband, Mrs. Hood lived for 13 years in the Nickerson home at Beaman. When her health began to fail about four years ago she made her home with her daughter and husband, Mr. and Mrs. James Creswell, near Morrison. While residing in Beaman she became a member of the Methodist church there.

Surviving are the daughter, Mildred, Mrs. James Creswell, Reinbeck, one son, William, Morrison. There are six surviving grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and one infant daughter, and a grandchild.
