Hilko Kolthoff, 87, Is Buried Here Monday

Hilko Kolthoff, son of John and Henderfe Spottel Kolthoff was born on October 30, 1888 in the Netherlands. He passed away on Friday, August 13, 1976 at his home at the age of 87 years, 9 months, 13 days.

On October 2, 1917, he was married to Christena Ascher at the St. Paul's Lutheran Church at Wellsburg by the Rev. Carl Heinrich. They lived all their married life on the same farm.

Hilko is survived by his wife, Christena, also five sons, August of Iowa Falls, Elmer of Steamboat Rock, Amos and Wallace at home, Theodore of Eldora; two daughters, Henrietta, Mrs. Charley Fluth of Ackley and Catherine, Mrs. Verne Richardson of Ackley. Also surviving are 11 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held on Monday afternoon, August 16, 1976 at 1:30 p.m. at St. Paul's Lutheran Church. Rev. Clarence Alexander was officiating pastor. Mrs. Gordon Junker was organist. Eldon Harms was soloist. Mrs. Arend Fisher and Mrs. Harold Jaspers were flower attendants. Pall bearers were Amos Kolthoff, Wallace Kolthoff, August Kolthoff, Elmer Kolthoff and Verne Richardson. Interment was made in St. Paul's Lutheran Church cemetery.

Brandt-Fritz Funeral Home of Ackley was in charge of arrangements.
