Heart Attack Takes Life Of Dick W. Koch

Funeral services for Dick W. Koch were held on Friday afternoon, Aug. 16, at 1:30 p.m. at St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran church. Rev. Clarence Alexander was officiating clergyman. Mrs. Elwood Doyen was soloist. Organist was Mrs. Eldon Harms. Flower attendants were Mrs. Charles Block and Mrs. Dick W. Riekena. Pall bearers were William F. Koch, Carl Giesking, Willie Giesking, Darrell Koch, George Senne, and Dick Harringa. Interment was made in St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church cemetery. Doyen Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Koch passed away very suddenly Tuesday afternoon, Aug. 13, at his home in Wellsburg, due to an apparent heart attack. He reached the age of 69 years, 6 months and 25 days.

He was born on a farm in Shiloh township, northwest of Wellsburg, on Jan. 18, 1905, the son of Henry and Louise (Senne) Koch. He attended the rural school in the area. In December of 1949 he moved to Wellsburg with his mother. His mother passed away Dec. 27, 1966.

Dick was a member of St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran church at Wellsburg, having been baptized in the church on March 19, 1905 and confirmed on April 13, 1924.

Those who preceded him in death were: his parents, three brothers: William, Fred and Henry Koch.

He is survived by: three sisters and three brothers: (Louise), Mrs. Carlos Lathrop of Oskaloosa; (Helena), Mrs. Alfred Krull of Wellsburg; Herman Koch of Wellsburg; Chris Koch of Holland; Ernest Koch of Wellsburg; (Lorraine), Mrs. James Williams of Williamsburg, and many nieces and nephews.
