Allan Ray Harms, 55, of Radcliff, KY, formerly of Wellsburg, passed away May 23, 2007 at Jewish Hospital in Louisville, KY.

Born January 1, 1952, the son of Raymond and Dena (Geiken) Harms, Allan was the fifth of eight children. Allan graduated from Wellsburg High School in 1971. He joined the National Guard and later joined the Army where he achieved the rank of Sergeant 1st Class. In 1996 he retired from the military after 27 years of service. He was a member of the Kentucky American Legion Post 113 and served with the Color Guard.

He is survived by three children: Chad (Doni) of LaPorte City, Jason and Brittany of Ackley; two step-children: Derik Thompson and Dawn (Rahsaan) Berry of Kentucky; several grandchildren; three brothers: Kenneth (Sandra) of Wellsburg, Vernon (Audrey) of Conrad, David (Kim) of Marshalltown; three sisters: Karen (Douglas) Sienknecht of Gladbrook, Janice (Roger) Beeghly of Conrad, Donna (Russ) Lage of Holland; one sister-in-law, Sandra Harms of Grundy Center; and many nieces and nephews. Preceding him in death are a daughter, Amber; his brother, Arnold; and his parents, Raymond and Dena Harms.

Graveside memorial services will be held June 23 at 2 p.m. at St. Paul's Lutheran church northeast of Wellsburg. A memorial fund has been established in Allan's name. Fellowship immediately following the service at the Wellsburg Community Center.
