Funeral services for Ernest Edwin Groote, 64, star route 183A, Isle, Minn., were held at 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday, April 7 at the Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home with burial in the Colfax Presbyterian Cemetery. hHe passed away Saturday, April 4 at Mercy Hospital in Anoka, Minn.

Mr. Groote was born March 24, 1917 in Grundy Center, the son of Harm and Annie Buskohl Groote. His first wife was Esther Harberts and his second wife was Irene Samo Stewart. He was a truck driver for Briggs Transportation.

Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Michael (Carol) McKillip, 4004 South Lawn Road, Cedar Falls; one step-son, Robert Stewart, Elko, Minn.; one adopted son, Paul Groote; one step-daughter, Colleen King, 1203 Calumet Drive, Cedar Falls; four grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Herman DeBerg of Dike; three brothers, Roy Groote of Dike, Herman Groote of Conrad and Benjamin of Grundy Center.

He was preceded in death by his parents and an infant son.

Memorials may be given to the Bethany Presbyterian Church, Grundy Center.
