Funeral Service Held For Conrad Molendorp, 72

Conrad Molendorp passed away Tuesday evening, October 5 at the Long Term Care Unit of the Grundy County Memorial Hospital in Grundy Center following a lingering illness. He had resided there since August 26th of this year. He reached the age of 72 years, six months and 11 days.

Funeral services for Conrad Molendorp were held on Friday, October 8 at 1:30 p.m. at the Wellsburg Reformed Church. Pastor Roger Huitink officiated at the services.

Mrs. Edwin Behrends and Mrs. W. Dale Murray sang two duet numbers accompanied by Marcella Neessen who was organist. Flower attendants were Mrs. Rodney Fuller and Mrs. Marlyn Mennenga.

Pall bearers were Fritz Albers, Alvin Lindaman, John Hoodjer, Edwin Stahl, Marlyn Mennenga, and John Jerry Abbas.

The interment service was held in the Wellsburg Reformed Church cemetery.

Conrad was born on March 24, 1910, on a farm in German Township, northwest of Wellsburg, the son of Helmer and Meintdena (Huisman) Molendorp and received his education in the rural school in the area.

On June 28, 1930, he was married to Tina Lutterman at the St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church, rural Wellsburg by the Rev. C. Heinrich. Following their marriage they lived on a farm northeast of Wellsburg for a short time and then moved to the Molendorp home-place farm northwest of Wellsburg. In 1957 they moved to their present farm north of Wellsburg.

Conrad was a member of the Wellsburg Reformed Church having joined by letter of transfer from the St. Peter's United Church of Christ, rural Wellsburg, on October 1, 1968.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Those left to mourn his passing are: his wife, Tina; his daughter, (Belva lea), Mrs. Arnold Nederhoff of Wellsburg; his son-in-law, Arnold Nederhoff of Wellsburg; four grandchildren, Brenda Nederhoff of Webster City, Sandi Nederhoff of Iowa Falls, David Nederhoff of Wellsburg, and Robert Nederhoff of Wellsburg; one brother, Jerry Molendorp of Parkersburg; and many other relatives and friends.

Doyen Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
