Clarence Wubbens Funeral Thursday At Local Church

Funeral services were held at 1:30 p.m. Thursday in the Second Christian Reformed Church for Clarence Wubbens, 57, who died last Tuesday in the Eldora hospital.

Rev. Carl Toeset was in charge of the service. Burial was in the Shiloh cemetery at the south edge of Wellsburg.

Pallbearers were Wallace Cordes, Sherrill Smith, Herman Schultz, Guy Reid, Orville Lamb and Henry Grobe. Members of the Eldora fire department served as honorary pallbearers.

Special music for the service consisted of a duet by Mr. and Mrs. Leland Luwe. Mrs. Clarence Beecroft was organist and Mrs. Ray Toomsen pianist.

Mrs. Orville Lamb and Mrs. Henry Grobe were flower attendants.

Obituary
Clarence Ernest Wubbens was born May 12, 1903, on a farm north of Wellsburg, the son of Mr. and Mrs. George Wubbens.

He attended the rural schools north of Wellsburg. As a young man he worked for various farmers in the Wellsburg area, and later worked as an auto mechanic in Iowa Falls. From 1942 to 1947 he worked in the Way Chevrolet Garage in Eldora.

For about 18 years he had been a member of the Eldora fire department.

During the last six months of his life Clarence Wubbens was employed at the State Training School for Boys at Eldora. He became ill while at work last Monday, and was taken to the Eldora hospital, where he passed away the following day.

Surviving are two brothers, John and Fred, both of Wellsburg; and two sisters, Mrs. Tena Weber of Ackley and Mrs. John (Carrie) Boekhoff, Jr., of Wellsburg.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
