Former Resident Dies in Illinois

Dr. Eldridge Lutterman, 67, dentist at Antioch, Illinois, was buried in the Shiloh township cemetery at the south edge of Wellsburg following graveside rites at 2 p.m. Wednesday.

A former Wellsburg resident, Dr. Lutterman died at his home in Antioch last Saturday.

Funeral services were held on Tuesday in Antioch, then the body was brought to Wellsburg for burial.

He is survived by his widow; one son, Robert; and two sisters, Mrs. Heiko T. Neessen of Grundy Center and Mrs. Tillie Schwager of Blue Earth, Minn.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister and six brothers.

Dr. E. J. Lutterman Rites On Wednesday

Dr. Eldridge J. Lutterman, 68, a dentist of Antioch, Ill., died unexpectedly Saturday noon, Jan. 23, in his home as he was removing his rubbers after a walk home from the office. It is believed he suffered a heart attack.

Dr. Lutterman was born on Jan. 21, 1892, in Wellsburg, Iowa; moved to Chicago in 1911 and was graduated from Northwestern University in 1916. He practiced dentistry in Sycamore until 1917, when he went in to the U.S. Army. After his discharge he moved to Antioch in 1921. He was married to Ruth Wachs on December 10, 1924, in Chicago. Dr. Lutterman was a member of the Antioch American Legion Post No. 748, the Chicago Dental Society, the Illinois State Dental Society, the American Dental Assn., and the Northwestern University Dental Alumni Assn. Dr. Lutterman leaves his widow Ruth; a son Robert J. of Antioch; two sisters, Mrs. Tena Neessen of Grundy Center and Mrs. Tillie Schwager of Blue Earth, Minn.

Services were held on Tuesday, Jan. 26, at 1 p.m. at the Strang Funeral Home in Antioch, the Rev. Wallace Anderson of the Antioch Methodist Church officiating. The body was taken to the Shiloh cemetery in Wellsburg and was laid to rest in its final resting place.

A prayer service was held at 1:45 Wednesday at the Doyen Funeral Home with burial service at 2 p.m. at the Shiloh cemetery. Rev. G. C. Poppen was in charge. Pallbearers were Jerry Lutterman, LeRoy Lutterman, Laurence Lutterman, Benjamin Hook, Lester Hook and Wallace Schwager.
