Amber Marie Geerdes Is Buried Here

Funeral services for Amber Marie Geerdes were held on Thursday, March 13, at 1:30 p.m. at the Doyen Funeral Home in Wellsburg. Father Clarence Kruse, Pastor of St. Patricks Catholic Church in Parkersburg, officiated at the services.

Two selections were sung by Dawson Ackerman and Justin Lupkes. They were accompanied by Mrs. Kenneth Ackerman.

Casket bearers were Rodney Carolus and Gregory Carolus.

The interment service was held in Shiloh Cemetery, in Wellsburg.

Amber Marie Geerdes, the daughter of David and Janelle Geerdes, passed away at 12:22 a.m. Tuesday, March 11, at the University Hospitals in Iowa City, due to Cardiopulmonary Arrest. She had been taken to the hospital on Thursday evening, the 6th.

She was born July 24, 1985, at Iowa City and reached the age of 7 months and 17 days.

Those left to mourn her passing are her parents, a brother, Adam Geerdes of Wellsburg; maternal grandparents, Claire and Doratha Carolus of Aplington; the paternal grandparents, Clarence and Nelda Geerdes of Wellsburg; maternal great-grandmothers, Mrs. Anna Carolus of Aplington, Mrs. Esther Ploeger of Ackley; paternal great-grandmothers, Mrs. Corbel Jones of Marshalltown and Mrs. Dena Geerdes of Pipestone, MN.

The family resides at 543 1/2 North 2nd St. in Marshalltown.
